Resident. Widespread and locally common in Britain as far north as Perthshire.

Recorded from a handful of sites, mainly in the north-east of the county.

Confusion species
Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should
be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to
separate the adults of some species.

Foodplant
Sycamore.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a small round
but irregular mine on the edge of the leaf. Pupates in a greyish cocoon
