UK Status Resident. Widespread and locally common in Britain as far north as Perthshire. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from a handful of sites, mainly in the north-east of the county. Wingspan : M & F, 8mm. Confusion species Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. |

(Bivoltine)  Habitat Wherever the foodplant is found. Foodplant Sycamore. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a small round but irregular mine on the edge of the leaf. Pupates in a greyish cocoon within the mine. |
